Beginning August 1, 2026, patrons of the Crook County Library System will notice changes to library hours at our branches. These changes are the direct result of recent budget reductions approved by the Crook County Commissioners.
Like many public services, libraries rely on county funding to provide access to books, technology, educational programs, research assistance, and community spaces. When county funding is reduced, adjustments must be made to ensure the library can continue providing these essential services while operating within its available budget.
Although our doors may be open fewer hours each week, our commitment to serving the community remains unchanged. Library staff will continue to provide the same high-quality services during open hours, including access to books, e-books, audiobooks, public computers, Wi-Fi, children's programming, adult programming, lifelong learning opportunities, and assistance with research and technology.
We understand these changes may be inconvenient for some patrons, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we adapt to these financial realities. Our goal has been to minimize the impact on library users while preserving the core services that residents throughout Crook County depend upon.
The library belongs to the community, and we are grateful for the continued support shown by our patrons. Every library visit, every book checked out, and every program attended demonstrates the important role the library plays in the lives of county residents.
Updated library hours are listed below and are available at each library location. We encourage patrons to plan their visits accordingly and to continue taking advantage of the many resources available through the Crook County Library System.

Tuesday – Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Moorcroft Branch Library: Monday – Thursday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday - Closed
Hulett Branch Library: Monday – Thursday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
